Quieting the Mind is an invitation to slow down and cultivate the relaxed attentiveness that makes meaningful change possible. One of the first steps toward a more fulfilling life is learning to settle the mind and body. As internal noise softens, we become more sensitive to our own experience and more attuned to the emotional world of others. Mindfulness, a foundational principle of the Hakomi Method, guides this exploration, supporting a gentle awareness of thoughts, sensations, and emotions as they arise in the body.
This course offers experiential, embodied learning with ample opportunities for guided practice. Short presentations alternate with structured exercises, done individually, in pairs, and as a group, allowing time to absorb the material in a steady, step-by-step way. Hakomi teachers provide direction and feedback in a manner consistent with Hakomi principles, creating a supportive environment for both personal exploration and skill development.
Together, we explore how calm presence deepens relational capacity, clarity, and compassionate responsiveness, both in clinical work and in daily life.
This two-day, in-person module includes study, experiential exercises, and partner practice at the Be Well Austin Center & Yoga House (Central Austin).
Saturday, April 25 | 10:00 AM–5:00 PM CT
Sunday, April 26 | 12:30 PM–4:30 PM CT
