Nourishing Communication begins with the understanding that the quality of our lives is shaped by the quality of our relationships—and relationships are built through communication. Yet most of us were never taught how to offer or receive communication in ways that truly nourish. Instead, we develop habits of protecting ourselves, avoiding vulnerability, or trying to be understood before learning how to deeply understand another.
In Hakomi, communication is more than exchanging information. It is an opportunity to create safety, deepen connection, and support another person’s unfolding experience. Nourishing communication invites us to become aware of the subtle ways we speak, listen, interrupt, reassure, advise, and respond—and how these habits either strengthen or weaken genuine connection.
This workshop offers a practical, experiential approach to communication rooted in mindfulness, curiosity, and respect. You’ll learn how to listen with greater presence, speak with greater authenticity, and recognize the conditions that allow people to feel seen, understood, and emotionally nourished. These skills naturally enhance personal relationships while also providing a powerful foundation for therapists, coaches, healthcare professionals, educators, and anyone whose work depends on meaningful human connection.
Like all Hakomi training, this module emphasizes learning by experience. Through guided exercises, partner practice, and group exploration, you’ll discover your own habitual communication patterns while developing new ways of relating that feel both more effective and more deeply human.
This three-day module includes study, experiential exercises, and partner practice. This training is offered online via Zoom.
